Green Bag It
With a swirling mass of plastic trash reaching across the ocean from Hawaii to Japan, there’s no excuse anymore to not use reusable shopping bags. They make them really stylish these days, coming in a wide variety of colors or sporting artistic designs (and designer labels). A lot of them are so attractive, I use them even when I’m shopping for clothes or taking overnight trips. Why bother with any paper or plastic bags at all?
For portability, I love the Chico Bag, which folds into a small pouch that I clip to my purse. Check out the Inconvenient Bag for fun, quirky designs. String bags are simple and sophisticated, perfect for filling up with fresh organics from the farmers market.
