A Deliciously Simple Treat
I have a thing for red licorice. Years before I was an avid label reader I’d often opt for the cherry red Twizzlers. But after learning that the first ingredient was corn syrup and was followed by palm oil, glyceryl monostearate, artificial color and red dye #40, the treat quickly lost its appeal.
Fortunately, I recently discovered Panda Raspberry Flavored Confection from Finland. While the name could use a marketing lift, the all-natural product is terrific. Soft and chewy, with just the right sweetness. They are made from four ingredients: molasses, wheat flour, citric acid and natural flavor. It’s easy to understand why Panda products are so popular throughout the Nordic countries, Great Britain, Germany, Poland and Spain and are making their way across the United States.
