A Gracious Second Life for Wine Bottles

Remember those funky 70s glass-cutting kits that made glasses out of old wine bottles? They’ve grown up and made a company.
The Green Glass Company, based in Wis., reclaims bottles and makes truly beautiful glassware in soft shades of greens, blues, and topaz, many with frosted designs (created with a safe sandblasting process). A set of four goblets in the Royal collection, frosted with a Honu sea turtle design, is $65. Green Glass can also make glassware with custom designs to your specifications.
No need for goblets? Brighten your kitchen window with the Shades Bud Vase – four bottle tops from pale green to cobalt blue attached to a glass plane, for $70. Fill with four perfect spring blooms – easy and ecological.
