Davina Hawthorne's Sustainable Couture

Where exactly is the eco-fashion uprising headed? The movement is important for all the right reasons, and fortunately for the fashionista in me, it’s also moving beyond basic t-shirts and organic jeans (not that those aren’t essentially wonderful).
I’m inspired and fascinated by the eco-couture of Davina Hawthorne, a brilliant British artist and advocate with ready-to-wear and couture lines as well as one-of-a-kind art and costume commissions. These are textured, flowing, feminine pieces from the atelier of a master, using recycled, industrial and handcrafted techniques and textiles. If this is the future of sustainable fashion, it’s going to be a beautiful story.
