Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.

The current climate of corporate cutbacks and headcount hacking doesn’t exactly send me spending, especially on frivolities like jewelry. But when the jewels are vintage and priced within any penny-pincher’s budget, it doesn’t hurt to look, does it?

I hope not, because I couldn’t help myself. The gems and trinkets at Eclectic Eccentricity (say that 10 times fast) are clever and quirky with a quintessential romantic touch. And they have stories to tell.

All of the pieces are original and designed by Lucy Averill, who founded Eclectic Eccentricity in 2004. Averill loves knick knacks and found objects which she combines to make her fun, sassy collection of necklaces, rings, bracelets and brooches.

The Just a Spoonful of Sugar Necklace is not only Eclectic and Eccentric, it’s absolutely precious with a small group of pearl beads bunched at the tip of the aged brass spoon’s handle, all hung from an 18″ antique brass chain. (Available via Eclectic Eccentricity for $21 plus shipping.)

I also can’t resist the Letter to My Love Necklace. It’s a brass locket in the shape of a tiny (1″ across) envelope, which opens to reveal the smallest little letter that declares “I Love You”. Hung from a 16″ gold plated chain, you choose between a black or ivory rose cabochon that seals the envelope. (Available for $30 plus shipping at Eclectic Eccentricity.)
