My mother is a wonderful cook – she taught me everything I know. Her one signature cooking style is that the always has herbs from her garden in virtually every dish she makes. In the summer, fresh flavors abound. During the winter she still works her magic with a wide variety of dried herbs to keep things interesting. This wreath would be right at home in her kitchen amongst all the other ingredients and aromas that make me homesick every time I walk in the back door!

I love to dry herbs from my own herb garden and give them as gifts. When we get together for family dinners I ask her what to bring and she says “dried herbs” or “one of your fresh herb breads.” This year she’s going to teach me how to can tomatoes from my garden and I”m going to teach her how to dry herbs from her garden. I’d love to get her started with this wreath!

This is beautiful, and I love that it’s functional too. I really wanted to make one of these with herbs from my garden last year but just didn’t have enough to fill a wreath. I’d love to use this for soups and breads.
