The Humane Mouse Trap

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door.”
If better means Mr. Mouse won’t fry, then the Humane Mouse Trap is the choice for the kinder, gentler homeowner.
Reusable and as cute as the little green houses we buy in Monopoly, the clear kodar green plastic A-frame trap features a patented “freedom” door. Stuart Little and his friends enter the door seeking peanut butter which you have dabbed on a cracker. The trap senses the weight of the little forager and the spring door snaps shut. Simply transplant your unwanted house pet to a wooded area or thicket. Escape through the door is delayed until the mouse chews through the snack. This means you never have to make contact with the mouse and the little guy can enjoy a picnic before departing.

The Humane Trap has been endorsed by humane societies and animal rights organizations in the U.S. and worldwide. (This designer is against the death penalty for mice.) About $16.

I have never understood the need to kill a creature that comes into the home. Potato bugs might be an exception, however.
