“Oh no! I left my reusable bags at home!”

That used to be a common refrain of yours truly at the grocery checkout line, and I’d feel so badly – taking home all those paper or plastic bags that would invariably end up scrunched under my kitchen sink because I couldn’t stand for them to go straight to the landfill.

But I’ve found the perfect solution: the Chico Bag. Made of strong and lightweight nylon, the Chico Bag scrunches down into a flirtatiously stowable pouch which can then be clipped onto a purse or key chain. I always keep mine clipped to my purse, so even when I have an unexpected purchase, it’s right there with me. More stylish sack than stylish tote, you can bring along the full range of beautiful colors on your next grocery trip, as they each weigh under two ounces yet hold over 20 pounds. Made by fair trade artisans, your purchase supports sustainable, ethical consumption.

Brilliant idea. I have a scrunch-bag for my waterproof jacket and it takes up virtually no room and no weight at all in my rucksack. It’s great that someone throught to adopt the same idea for a shopping bag….

looks like the kick start I need to implement my “no plastic bags” resolve – the first step should be so easy!

So cute! I have larger bags but this would be great to keep in a purse.

These would be so much classier than keeping the same old wadded-up plastic bag in my purse; so much less chaotic! And they can hold up to 20lbs? That would replace multiple bags! Yay!

They are wonderful. A lot nicer than some of the grocery store ones. :)

I’ve been looking for a bag that folds up small like this for a while. I have a bunch of reusable grocery bags, but I need to get something small enough to fit in my purse for shopping trips at the mall. I don’t want to put clothes and groceries in the same bags, and the grocery sacks are too big to walk around with at the mall anyway.

I use reusable bags all the time but it would be great to have one in my purse for when I forget to take them in. These are so cute!

These are perfect for the day you forget the reusable bags at home–or for when you’re stores other than the grocery store!

Love these! They would fit anywhere (glove box, diaper bag, purse, suitcase…) and be ready for anything. Even if I don’t win one I’ll be buying some! Thanks for introducing me to Chico bags!

Finally! I love canvas totes for the grocery but they are space hogs! The Chico Bags looks like the perfect solution and I love that I can put it in my handbag. I’m usually toting two kids so the less to carry, the better!

I’m always stopping at farmers markets this time of year. Chico Bags sound like the ideal way to avoid another one-bag-per-item, landfill clogging collection of plastic grocery sacks.

I always keep an assortment of different reusable bags in the back of my car. It allows me to feel comfortable in any setting, knowing I have a bag that is appropriate.
