Yurts: Taking Your Business Outside

WP Greet Box icon
Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.

It seems an unspoken rule that all modern businesses never have enough conference rooms free. So here’s an idea – go sit outside.

During my Archaeology degree here in England, when the weather was good enough (a rare occurence), our lecturers would hold seminars on the lawns outside the department, snaking a power cable inside when electrical equipment was required. The only distraction was the view – a tent around us would have been ideal. And that’s the thinking behind the Nomad, a spacious, luxurious tent modelled on the Mongolian wood-framed yurt (or more correctly, ger). Makers Ecoshack are keen to point to the eco-friendly manufacturing methods and materials that go into making the hard-carved frame and polished wooden floor.

Spa parties. Temporary office space. Artist’s retreat. Luxury garden camping in the heat of summer. Have I missed anything? As long as you can find somewhere relatively quiet, this is a practical and stylish way to mix business with pleasure. And if you want a trial run, sign up for a "yurt holiday" (like the ones in England or France).

For more on the yurt / ger, have a look at this fabulous resource over at SimplyDifferently.
